In general terms a yurt is a round walled shelter that is portable. More specifically, a yurt is a place to retreat from the elements while at the same time allowing a closseness to the outside envirnment.
Yurts have a long history, one that started in the era of Gingus Kahn and the Mongolian culture of the high steppes of Asia. Traditional yurts are produced by several European and a few American companies. Rocky Mountain Yurt Company believes in taking advantage of a few modern materials to make the yurt stronger, more spacious, and ultimately less expensive.
Our yurts are designed and engineered to widthstand wind, snow and rain. They are designed to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The design will allow an intamite, yet comfortable, experience with your natural soroundings, It is build from quality material that will ensure a long life for your shelter.
